Welcome to the Rendezvous!

Previous Updates:
  • Our e-mail service has been updated. If you had previously bookmarked the login page, you'll need to click on the Kalamis Royal Messenger Service link and update your bookmark to the new login page.

  • Some of the soundtracks that Joey created for our Rendezvous events are now available for sale on the Soundtracks for Sale page. The links provided are for licenses for personal use: maybe you've just missed those event sounds or want to use them for a party or gaming night. = )

  • This year we are redesigning the campaign on several fronts: from administration, story and rules perspectives. If you would like to contribute your thoughts towards the redesign, please email Management@321LayOn.com.

  • The tavern forums are now read-only. PMs can still be sent among members, but posting will only be done by staff. If you have any questions, please to send an e-mail to Management@321LayOn.com. All questions will be reviewed weekly, answered, and when applicable, added to an updated, in-depth FAQ.

  • Rendezvous is now an invitation-only game. If you would like to receive an invitation to our next event (once it is scheduled) please email Management@321LayOn.com. Thanks to those who have already submitted their invitation request. We appreciate your continued interest and look forward to seeing you soon.

  • Players with an invitation may bring one guest. The guest may earn their own invitation by participating in our attempt at full immersion role-playing atmosphere, showing good sportsmanship, and not causing out-of-play drama.

  • We still have just a few openings on our Story Team and Monster Squad.  While we have always said Story Team participation is permanent, now you can sign on for a specific term of time, to be determined on an individual basis. Once that time limit is completed, the Story Team member may choose to sign on for another term or play an NPC pre-approved by the Director.

  • Full-time Monster Squad members earn 1/2 off the entry donation for each event they fully participate and provide support to Story Team. (Ex: Monster Squad works two events and gets in free as an invited player to the third event.)

  • If you are interested in joining staff in either of these roles, please email Tams@321LayOn.com.

  • One final change we're making is discontinuing the idea of Player Representatives. While this idea was intended to provide a pipeline for authentic player feedback directly to Management, unfortunately, there were unintended out-of-play drama consequences that distracted from our goal of game immersion. Discontinuing player representatives does not mean we don't want your feedback; we're just gathering it in a different way via the Management@321LayOn.com e-mail address. We thank each and every one of the players who were elected as Player Representatives. We appreciate the hard work and great intentions of your efforts.

Thanks for your patience and understanding this year. We at Rendezvous plan to provide a high quality experience to our players with events held three to four times a year. These changes will allow our staff to focus on creating the best immersion for you that will curl your toes from fear and adrenaline all at the same time.

An Introduction to Our Game:
Rendezvous is a Live Action Roleplaying Game (also known as a LARP) that centers on a horror/fantasy setting with a western twist.  It takes place in a fort in the base of the mostly unexplored Rendezvous Valley. In a world with a variety of races, you can choose from some classic tabletop races as well as several completely original ones.

We use both latex and foam/pvc boffer weapons, as well as well-modified and painted nerf guns for our completely original combat system. It is a combination of hit location and a hit point system that allots a certain amount of hit points to each limb and to the torso.  Our schools of magic run off of a mana system and there is a full clerical Gawd system, as well, with five Gawds to choose from. You can choose to simply represent and follow a Gawd or be a full Priest which opens up entirely new spells called Miracles that operate off of Faith Points.

If you aren't big into combat, there are lots of other equally immersive options for you.  You can be a traveling bard with majiks protecting you while you perform, a sneaky rogue who can get through any trap and pick any lock, a majus who creates majikal items of great power, a healer who protects life from the evils of the Tween or a scholar with access to all of the most well-guarded secrets. The game is class-free.  All skills are open to all players; although some races have skills only available to that race.

Every event there is a fully phys-repped (physically represented) dungeon module that changes all throughout the year.  The storyline is altered, re-written and made to fit with the actions of the players after every event.  There are many underlying, deep, long-lasting story lines with a multitude of equally intricate shorter-running story lines so there is never a shortage of things to research, find out and do. The Story Team (the wonderful people in charge of all of the stories and entertainment every event) is comprised of a group with diverse larping experience from different larps and games and are all ready and willing to help you dive into the world of Rendezvous.
